Privacy policy
This policy will be finalized before Rink Locker is released on the App Store.
The short version
Your drills, practice plans, teams and rosters stay on your device. We only store what you choose to share with the community, plus what's needed to run your account. No ads, no tracking, and we never sell your information.
On your device only
Drills, practice plans, teams, rosters, lineups and notes are saved on your iPhone or iPad. They are never sent to us. Player names and roster details are never included in anything you publish.
Your account
You don't need an account to draw drills or plan practices. To use the community (publishing, rating, saving and reporting), you sign in with Apple. We then store:
- the identifier Apple gives us for your account, and the email address Apple shares (often a private relay address);
- the display name you choose, which is shown publicly next to what you publish.
If Apple shares your first name, it stays on your device and is only used to suggest a display name.
What you share
When you publish a drill or a plan, its drawing, name, description, coaching points and tags become public, with your display name. Before anything is published, the app shows you every piece of text that will go out and warns you about words that look like a person's name.
We also store your ratings, saves, the drills you use from others, the points you've earned, coaches you've blocked, and reports you send. Other coaches see totals, such as average ratings and points.
Keeping the community safe
Text you publish is checked against a word list. If an account is banned from publishing, we keep its Apple identifier so the ban still applies if the account is deleted and created again. We keep nothing else for that purpose.
Service providers
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in. Its servers keep standard request logs, including IP addresses, for a limited time.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple.
- Vercel hosts this website. The website uses no cookies and no analytics.
Usage statistics
Rink Locker does not collect usage statistics today. If we add them, they will be off unless you turn them on, anonymous, and limited to counts of which features are used. This policy will be updated first.
Deleting your information
You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your account, profile and published drills and plans from our servers, and revokes Rink Locker's access to your Apple ID. Points you already gave other coaches stay with them. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device.
Children
Rink Locker is made for coaches. Rosters often include young players, which is why roster information never leaves the coach's device.
Your rights and contact
You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@rinklocker.ca. If this policy changes in an important way, we'll say so in the app.
